What Matters Refined is a collection of fully on-chain layered portraits about the human relationships that shape our lives.

Each work combines multiple portraits, written thoughts and symbolic elements across dozens of individually stored on-chain layers. As the images are assembled through a custom renderer, the collection also tests the practical boundaries of what fully on-chain art can contain and retrieve today.

Each What Matters Refined work moves through four states of perception, from a resolved portrait toward a holder-shaped abstraction.

Rest

The resolved face of the work. Portraits, thoughts and symbols settle into a readable form.

Glitch

The image begins to shift. Layers move between closeness and distance, revealing how the work is built.

Rupture

The portrait opens into its structure. Individual layers, messages and relationships become more visible.

Abstraction

Recognition gives way to composition. A deterministic state emerges, shaped by the wallet that holds the work.
